When Adam and I got back from PCB, we got prepped for a night out with friends. Since it was Taco Tuesday, we obvi went out for tacos. I got dressed in some winter florals with The Kooples, a brand that I just discovered. I ended up choosing this dress after seeing that Xenia, from Xenia Overdose, wore an outfit from the brand.
Xenia is one of the fashion bloggers that I love to follow. As you gets to know her, through her Instagram posts and stories, you can’t help but fall in love with her sweet and funny personality. One thing that I love most about her is her makeup routine. I once saw a post where she stated that she doesn’t wear a lot of makeup – and all I remember from that post is that she stated she wore highlighter and mascara.
Nonetheless, her skin is flawless – something that I’m hoping to achieve at some point in my life, haha!
The dress that I chose to wear to the dinner is the Laced Floral Dress. I rented this (duh!) from Rent the Runway. But, as I stated before, I hadn’t been browsing their items until Xenia led me to them.
For those interested, there are some similar dresses on The Kooples site. You can pick the Silk Chiffon Hummingbird Print Dress or, if you prefer a shorter dress, opt for the Virgin Flower Silk Dress.
I paired the dress with a plain black handbag with metal handles and a pair of old sandals (complete with a kitten, block heel). Since I’m quite small and usually wear a double zero I belted the dress. Otherwise, it was a little big on me.
Even in the cool night air, I was warm in this dress. The length was perfect for a petite woman like myself – woohoo! – and I’d def. rent another of their dresses.
So who out there has heard of The Kooples? Who would wear a dress like this?
