Now I know that part of the whole red trend this fall is the whole all-red ensemble, but I am just beginning to find a real love for the color. For the longest time, I hated wearing red (I have no clue why, either!) so I don’t have much.
Well this post is all about the trend and how I’m incorporating it.
I picked up this clutch from my first Rent the Runway subscription box (read all about that here and here) so that I could take it to the Circa Survive concert at House of Blues. The concert was super fun and Anthony Green’s voice is so stunning. He can do no wrong.
The Georgiana Men at Work clutch, which is by Anya Hindmarch, is (1) super expensive and (2) sold out. However, I couldn’t give up the chance to hold a beautiful designer clutch on a night out.
I also ended up taking it to brunch the next morning. Adam, his friend, and I went to SoCo, one of the best brunches in Orlando, and nommed on some delicious food.
Adam ended up getting the quail and waffles, which is BEYOND delicious. I got the Crispy Duck Confit Potato Cakes. We both got one of their yummy cold brews.
Afterwards, we went back home. I holed myself up in our room, writing blog posts and completing some work for school while Adam hung out with friends.
There’s nothing like listening to football through the walls while you’re editing photos and making assessments for students.
Anyway, I paired the clutch with an all black outfit for the concert (the business of taking pics and shooting videos from the concert took over and I didn’t get a pic!) and then paired it with some bf denim and a sleeveless sweater for brunch.
I got the sweater from Forever 21 but can’t seem to find it. There’s a super similar one in the Lovely Pepa Collection but it’s a little over my typical budget. For one that’s within my typical budget check out this Knit Mock Neck Top and this super similar one in their plus size collection here.
When Adam and I did this mini photoshoot, which occurred after his friend went to pick up his car and before his other friends came over, I asked if I could sit on his super cool airplane wing desk.
I felt like (even though I didn’t have many options because the guest room was commandeered and the black out curtains in the living room were lowered) this location was the best with this outfit.
The masculine, tough feel of Adam’s decor mixed with the bright red of the clutch and the softness of the sweater in the best way.
Anyway, I was sitting super close to the chandelier and ended up hitting my head, which ended up in a few candid laughing shots.
I thought I’d be nice and share them because, to be honest, you’ll never see another pic of me laughing. I tend to smile with my mouth closed – I feel like I look better that way.
Sooo…who else loves this clutch?
And who else loves the red trend that’s going on right now? Do you sport the all-red trend or do you take a lesser approach, like me?
Let me know in the comments!
