it’s 2018

Well, ladies and gents, it’s 2018. That means it’s time to reflect back on 2017 and discuss goals or resolutions. This NYE, I ended up going to Universal’s Eve, a fun event featuring their various bars and clubs. There were tons of places with free food (pastas, meats, cheeses, desserts) and various kinds of music.

We picked up out VIP tickets around 9:00 pm, after sipping on drinks and playing with sparklers. We chose to Uber to Universal, because it’s better to be safe than sorry – duh!, and walked along the red carpet and into the party.

The weather that evening was perfect. I was super pleased with the event and would def. go back to it. It wasn’t one of the things on my holiday bucket list but it should’ve been, because I had never been to an NYE event that large before. When it comes to the completion of that list, I did all but make homemade apple cider. I did, however, make that pear galette, which (I think) counts.

The jumpsuit that I wore to the event was purchased at a local boutique, called Downtown Divas. I can’t post a link because there is no online shop and I couldn’t find the perfect ones (to recommend) because I have to put them on. I’m super petite, so I need to test things out, especially jumpsuits, before recommending them.

Nonetheless, I’d ALWAYS recommend picking up a cropped (or almost capri) jumpsuit. It’ll (obvi) be pants on us, which means it’ll be perfect!

When I look back at 2017, I think of how amazing it was. I got married, traveled around the Mediterranean on a gorgeous cruise ship for my honeymoon, visited NYC for the first time, purchased a new kitchen for our home, and got serious about blogging.

I even signed up for Christina Galbato’s (better known as The Bold Brunette) Instagram Bootcamp, where I met a great group of like-minded bloggers. Even though I’m not quite done (I made it through the second module, which discussed content creation – and I’m focusing on that before moving on) I have found it to be VERY helpful.

Now, when it comes to resolutions or goals, I haven’t quite thought of…well, ANY. I do know that I have goals for my Instagram account. I want to focus on creating great content (and YES, some that are not taken in our bedroom!) and gaining engaged followers.

I feel like it’ll help them find the blog and (of course) all that I have to talk about. If I’m being serious, I’d like to work with Rent the Runway because you don’t have spend tons of cash on clothes to wear your favorite designers. To be honest, I never thought I’d be able to wear half of the things that I have been wearing, and I’m so excited!!

When it comes to Instagram numbers, I feel like if I get, at least 5k followers, I’ll be pleased. I’ve been growing VERY slowly and want to be realistic.

Personal goals? I’d like to start working out, and I feel like I’m forming a great friendship that might help with that motivation. I’d also like to keep visiting the 50 states. Right now, I’ve been attempting to plan a trip to Charleston (I thought I’d go the weekend of the fifteenth) but things keep falling through.

I’ll likely head there later in the year, when it’s warmer.

And when it comes to other countries, I’d LOVE to explore Asia this year. I keep seeing tons of Maldives, Bali, and Dubai photos. I’d be so HAPPY to visit one of those places.

So who out there has goals? Tell me all about them in the comments!
